Italian Stiletto, circa 1650
A most pleasing dagger. Grip divided into upper and lower halves, separated by a drum shaped ornament made up of discs. Pommel and quillon tips formed similarly. Blade of diamond section. Contained in an original metal scabbard with locket, retaining carrying loop, and chape. Scabbard covered with later velvet. Sword and dagger grips constructed in this manner are usually attributed to Florence.
Condition: Excellent. Fabric covering on scabbard worn.
