A Rare French Silver-Hilted Small-Sword, Paris 1783
With flattened hexagonal wavy blade, engraved on the forte with a stand of arms, a winged figure above and scrollwork, all with traces of gilding. Scattered light pitting over the entire length. The silver hilt pierced, cast and chased in relief with roped frames filled with pierced panels in a diamond pattern. The double shell guard, knuckle guard, globular pommel and grip, all decorated en-suite.
Struck with a Paris mark for 1783 and an unidentified maker's mark.
